Only a game
Yesterday, I had planned to blog about my thoughts on FSU's football team, their early season struggles and how much better they looked against the Rice Owls this past Saturday. Then I heard about the tragic death of Dale Lloyd, a freshman defensive back at Rice who was taken to the hospital after a routine workout on Sunday. Lloyd would never leave the hospital, dying on Monday morning due to reasons that have yet to be determined.
I obviously don't know him or his family, but it's impossible to not feel for his family. I love the game of football and emotions run high or low depending on how my favorite team does. However, it is in fact only a game played by young men who love what they're doing. I'll still blog about football in the future, but life trumps all. I hope my passion for life and people far outweighs my passion for football.
God bless the Lloyd family.

i was surfing blogs at the same time as you, just wanted to say hi.
i don't think that you need reassurance but your passion for life and for others far outweighs your passion for sports. And we all know how crazy you are about those 'Noles!
